| ‘Sidney’s Oak’ Table
Bronze, glass, hand-blown glass oil burners
Private Commission
This dramatic piece was inspired by an C18th etching of `Sidney’s Oak’, an impressive hollow Oak dating from Medieval times and a favourite of Sir Philip Sidney, Elizabethan poet and war hero from Penshurst Place in Kent, England.
It is lit from within the trunk with low voltage electrical light which emanates through the branches and lights are also hidden within the branches and down light to accentuate the bronze branches. Then the stunning centrepiece is enhanced by oil burners glowing within the canopy of the tree. The most magical dining experience, not only is it a stunning work of art but also a functional yet timeless piece.
